3M Gold Sponsorship at Roadteq 2007, Qatar

Qatar – Today, Qatar’s booming economy, extensive construction projects and increase in population are special topics of interest. With this boom in construction, the government is also paying attention to the infrastructure, developing road and transportation systems that will allow further growth. In response to this growth, Qatar will host its first ‘Roadteq Exhibition in 2007 with full support of Qatar Public Work Authority "Ashghal".’

The exhibition which will be held for the first time in Qatar, has grasped the interest of many international firms related to road construction and traffic systems, and the participation of the International Road Federation (IRF) as a Conference Organizer will boost the educational value for the show by the participation of an elite of professional speakers and personnel.

While having worked with various governments across the globe on transportation challenges, 3M is supportive of this first initiative in Qatar. As the Gold sponsor, 3M’s Traffic Safety and Security division will be launching their latest range of cutting-edge traffic safety products at Roadteq 2007, in Qatar.

3M’s pioneering products are already successfully credited with reducing road accidents around the world, In recognition of the fact that drivers today need more help on the roadways than ever before, 3M Gulf is using the exhibition as a venue to highlight its product, 3M™ Diamond Grade™ DG3 Reflective Sheeting. This technology provides the effective visual guidance that drivers need on the roads in the Arabian Gulf. When applied to road signs the improved products increase reflectivity and improve driving visibility during the day and night.

3M’ sponsorship comes to illuminate the huge potentials of the Qatari market, for road and traffic systems’ specialists from all around the globe. The latest declarations of Qatar Public Authority, Ashghal, who is participating in Roadteq 2007 as the main Sponsor, unveiled projects worth a total of QR25bn for the next five years in Qatar.

The five-year plan includes 32 road projects, 19 buildings, and six drainage works.
