Ferrovial: new services contracts in UK and Spain
Madrid, Spain, – Amey, Ferrovial’s UK services subsidiary, has obtained a two-year contract to operate eight stoneblowers (pneumatic ballast injection machines) on railways in London and Western and North-western England. The contract, which complements the contract to supply and operate tampers obtained a few months ago, is worth 6 million pounds (8.7 million euro).
Through Amey, Ferrovial’s Services division has firmly established its presence in the UK, a market which represents more than 45% of the division’s total revenues and over 50% of its EBIT. Amey’s backlog increased by 41.4% to 4.188 billion euro in 1Q06.
In Spain, infrastructure maintenance subsidiary Grupisa is to supply signalling for the new terminal area at Madrid-Barajas airport.
Also in Madrid, Ferrovial will provide facility management at Fuenlabrada hospital.
