Cooperative Mobility Showcase 2010 to be held in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM HOSTS THE WORLDS FIRST AND LARGEST EVENT DEDICATED TO VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS AND COOPERATIVE MOBILITY

A world-class showcase of innovative vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure technologies will be held in and around Amsterdam from 23 to 26 March 2010. This Cooperative Mobility Showcase 2010 will feature the final results of the first and largest EU-cofunded research projects COOPERS, CVIS and SAFESPOT. The showcase is organized in association with Intertraffic Amsterdam 2010, the world’s leading exhibition for infrastructure, ITS traffic management, safety and parking.

Groundbreaking innovations
Leading European companies, such as Daimler, the Fiat Research Centre, Renault, Volvo Technology, Logica, Mizar Automazione, ASFA, Efkon, Asfinag, Robert Bosch GmbH, Magneti Marelli, Cofiroute, Peek Traffic, PTV, Q-Free, TomTom and Telecom Italia, as well as senior researchers will demonstrate the benefits of connecting smart vehicles with each other and with intelligent roads at this ground-breaking showcase on cooperative mobility, the next-generation solution to quicker, safer, more efficient and cleaner transport.

Delegates will see, hear and experience for themselves the very latest developments in cooperative ITS, such as the cooperative intersection, intelligent routing, hazard & incident warning and frontal collision warning; how cooperative mobility contributes to quicker, safer and cleaner transport; and future visions of cooperative mobility: roadmaps to widespread deployment and market growth, and how international deployment barriers can be overcome.

Conference
The Cooperative Mobility Showcase 2010 consists of three interrelated events, namely a conference, live on-road demonstrations and the i&CDrive exhibition.

The conference features high-level speakers including Camiel Eurlings (Dutch Minister of Transport), Alessandro Coda (EUCAR), Giovanni Colombo (European Institute of Technology), Gilles Vesco (Communaut? urbaine de Lyon), Helmut Matschi (Continental) and Miquel Nadal (RACC). The conference offers three days of inspiring presentations, challenging debates and high-level discussions and is co-organised by the European Commission, the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, the COOPERS, CVIS and SAFESPOT project coordinators, as well as Amsterdam RAI.

Live on-road demonstrations
After four years of research and testing, the final results of COOPERS, SAFESPOT and CVIS will be presented at the live on-road demonstrations. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience hands-on, in numerous demonstrator cars on the public road and a test track, the new techniques in vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.

i&CDrive exhibition
The i&CDrive exhibition of the Cooperative Mobility Showcase is integrated in Intertraffic Amsterdam 2010, the world?s leading trade fair for the infrastructure, ITS traffic management, safety and parking sectors. Halls 9, 10 and 11 are dedicated to traffic management products and services, with hall 9 forming the centre of co-operative systems with the i&CDrive exhibition.
