Combined exhibitions Traffex, Parkex and Streetdesign 2009

Despite the recession, traffic management and parking see continued investment by the public and private sector

Trade industry events are often regarded as a very good indicator of the health of an industry sector and if Traffex 2009 is a barometer of the traffic, transport and parking industry, then the results are positive. The combined Traffex, Parkex and Street Design exhibition stand space is 96% sold out, indicating the industry is remaining up-beat and able to withstand the current instability in the financial sector.

This reflects a huge show of support from the industry for Traffex, which has moved to Hall 5 at the NEC to accommodate over 24,000 sqm of exhibition floor space, an increase of 35% from the last event in 2007.

The three shows, which are co-located at Birmingham’s NEC from 21 – 23 April, have over 500 exhibitors, from the world of transport, parking and urban built environment, showcasing their latest developments. Exhibitor confidence is high and there is continued interest in the shows, both from exhibitors and visitors.

Derek Muir, Group Chief Executive of Hill & Smith Holdings said: “The Traffex exhibition is an excellent venue for Hill & Smith to showcase the strength of its Group products and to allow contractors an opportunity to see the full product range, all in the one arena. We see this show as a very important part of our growth strategy for the UK and international markets.”

Bill Butler, Event Director for Traffex, Parkex and Street Design, comments; “Transport, parking and urban built environment issues continue to be highly topical within both the media and the Government. I am delighted that there is such great interest in the shows, despite the struggling global economy. The number of exhibitors has increased on the previous years as spending within the public sector is set to rise and help drive the economy.”

Thousands of visitors have already registered to attend the combined Traffex, Parkex and Street Design event. To register for a free visitor badge visit www.traffex.com
