Deployment of the European Rail Traffic Management System: The European Parliament Acknowledges the Achievement of the Rail Industry

Brussels, Belgium – The association of European Rail Infrastructure Managers (EIM) welcomes the vote of the European Parliament on the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). With more than 95% of the MEP’s supporting M. Cramer’s report, the plenary has sent a clear message in favour of intelligent transport systems. More importantly it has given its assent to a crucial project for railway revitalisation and to its funding by several European budgetary sources.
