The OHL Group to construct White Tunnel system Prague

Spain – The OHL Group, through its Czech subsidiary OHL ZS, is participating in the construction of Prague`s White Tunnel system, which is part of the city`s interior ring road and represents the Czech Republic`s largest underground works.

The entire section that OHL ZS will be participating in measures 6.38 km, of which 5.5 km are tunnels. Most of the tunnels are perforated, although a few will be false tunnels. The full section is divided into four subsections for construction; the Czech subsidiary will be executing the Spejchar-Pelc Tyrolka section with a total budget of 53.34 million.

In all, the sections to be built corresponds to the northwestern part of the Prague Interior Ring Road, passing through the urban area of the city centre and bordering the historic zone, crossing the Kralovska obora-Stromovka nature park. This section, connecting to the southwest part of the Ring Road, measuring 17 km, will result in the Czech Republic`s longest tunnel.

The works to be executed by OHL ZS include the entrance to the excavated tunnels in Letna, with an underground technological facilities complex under the housing in Letna and underground parking garages with 863 spaces. The facilities will guarantee proper ventilation and fire control for most of the perforated tunnels under Kralovska obora.
