Mouchel Parkman awarded South Gloucestershire highways contract

Surrey, United Kingdom – South Gloucestershire Council has awarded Mouchel Parkman a five-year contract to support the local authority with highways and transport-related services.

The commission, which starts on 1 August 2006, will be delivered by the Bristol office of Mouchel Parkman.

Mouchel Parkman will provide services in 12 main areas of work, including traffic management, traffic signal design, highways-related development (S38 and S106 agreements), asset management and transportation studies.

Trish Johnson, divisional director for Mouchel Parkman’s Bristol and Cornwall offices, said: “We are looking forward to assisting the council with the improvement of the road network in the vicinity of our office. South Gloucestershire Council is keen to develop a partnering ethos for the delivery of its traffic engineering services and Mouchel Parkman will bring valuable experience gained with county council commissions in Cornwall, Shropshire and Wiltshire.”

Councillor Pat Hockey, Executive Member for Planning, Transportation & Strategic Environment, said: “Making it easier, safer and more enjoyable to get around South Gloucestershire is a major challenge. I am looking forward to the next round of work starting with the council’s new partners."
