Zeist, 27 May 2008 – Science and practice will meet at Rail Technology Conferences 2008 in Utrecht, The Netherlands on 24 and 25 June 2008. Strategy, technology, maintenance and renewal are topics that will be dealt with during this 1,5-day conference. On 24 June all aspects of Switches will be discussed whereas on 25 June Wheel Rail Interface will be highlighted.

The conference programme has been put together in cooperation with Mr. Eberhard Jänsch as programme manager (former Head of Systems Integration Group, DB Netz AG), Mr. Gert Liefting of Lloyd’s Register Rail and Mr. Frank Koster of ProRail. Switches and Wheel Rail Interface will be the main topics of this international conference. International experts from various sectors will highlight themes like strategy and technology, wheel/rail systems, loads, stress and rail defects, wheel inspection, maintenance, renewal, rail and track maintenance.

Rail Technology Conferences 2008 will be held in a very appropriate venue for the occasion, i.e. the Railway Museum in Utrecht, the Netherlands, which was recently reconstructed. The organisers have chosen for a 1,5-day programme, starting on 24 June at 12.30 thereby allowing delegates to travel to the venue while avoiding heavy traffic in the morning. During this conference and the networking dinner on 24 June, participants will have sufficient time for networking and exchange know-how with experts in the field of Switches and Wheel Rail Interface.
