COWI to strengthen its consultancy internationally
Kongens Lyngby, Denmark – The international consultancy company COWI A/S wants to extend its consultancy business by establishing new business units in the EU membership countries in Eastern Europe, the Arabic Gulf, Africa and in Northern Europe.
COWI is the most globally oriented of the large Danish consultants. The company generates 45 per cent of its turnover outside Scandinavia.
"Good consultancy is about being close to the client. Globalisation increases competition, but also provides additional business opportunities if the company establishes itself close to the clients. That is what we will be doing in the coming years by regionalising COWI," says Klaus H. Ostenfeld, Chief Executive Officer.
COWI is already a leading consultant in Denmark and Norway, where it offers a full range of consultancy in engineering, environmental science and economics.
Globally, COWI markets world class specialist services in the fields of major bridges, tunnels, marine structures, development assistance, environmental due diligence, mapping and airport construction.
New Executive Board
In order to realise its growth strategy, COWI is extending its Executive Board from four to six members.
"We wish to focus our management efforts on proximity to our clients, regionalisation of the group, on building our capacity to acquire new companies and on developing our employees. Human competences, relations and values are the driving forces behind the development of our company," says Klaus H. Ostenfeld.
