Financial close of another major concession project:
Bilfinger Berger to finance, design, construct and operate a 38 kilometer section of highway in Norway
Mannheim, GermanyJust two months after its selection as preferred bidder, Bilfinger Berger has reached financial close on its first concession project in Scandinavia. A consortium under the Group’s leadership will finance, design, construct and operate a 38 kilometer section of the E18 highway in Norway. The investment volume amounts to €450 million and Bilfinger Berger’s equity commitment is €9 million. Bilfinger Berger holds a 50% stake in the project company, which will undertake operation and maintenance for a period of 25 years in return for an availability-based, fixed fee from the Norwegian State.
The section is part of the new highway between Oslo and Kristiansand. Design and construction includes numerous bridges and tunnels and will be executed under the technical leadership of Bilfinger Berger’s Civil division.
Bilfinger Berger continues to pursue a long-term growth strategy in its concessions business. The Company’s concessions portfolio will provide long-term stable cash flows and an attractive return on equity over the term of the projects.
