Contract Aarsleff with Citytunnel Project Malmo

Abyhoj, Denemarken – As a party to the contracting consortium Malmö Citytunnel Group, Per Aarsleff A/S has signed a contract with the Citytunnel Project, which is the project organisation of Swedish Banverket, for establishment of a bored tunnel in Malmö.

The contract, which has a value of approx. SEK 2.3 billion (around DKK 1.8 billion), was obtained in a consortium with German Bilfinger Berger AG and Danish E. Pihl & Søn A.S. Aarsleff’s share of the consortium amounts to 25%.

”We are very pleased with this order. We have experience in infrastructure projects in the Øresund region and the consortium has made a large and targeted effort to obtain this contract”, says General Manager of Aarsleff Ebbe Malte Iversen.

The contract comprises the construction of a 4,650m long twin tunnel with an 8.9m diameter. Furthermore a 700m long ramp is to be established at Holma in addition to a large underground rock cavern at the future Triangeln Station. The cavern is established 25 metres below ground level and will be 250 metres long, 28 metres wide and 12 metres high.

The work is scheduled for commencement in the second quarter of 2005 and the total construction period is 52 months.

We do not expect this order to affect the profit for the current financial year.
