Arcadis nominates Peter Oosterveen as new CEO




Arcadis (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the leading global Design & Consultancy firm for natural and built assets, today 09-03-2017 announced that its Supervisory Board has nominated Peter Oosterveer (59) as CEO and Chairman of the Arcadis Executive Board. The Supervisory Board is proposing the appointment of Mr. Oosterveer to the Executive Board for a period of four years at the next annual general meeting of shareholders on April 26, 2017. Mr. Oosterveer joins Arcadis from Fluor Corporation, where he was Chief Operating Officer and a member of the company's Corporate Leadership Team.

Peter's experience in delivering excellence in project management, running successful commercial operations, and strategic expertise, combined with his leadership skills, make him well suited to lead Arcadis forward. He will join the current Arcadis Executive Team who have managed Arcadis well during the recruitment process. Mr. Oosterveer is a Dutch national and holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden. He joined Fluor Corporation, one of the world's largest publicly traded engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance and project management companies with 60,000 employees, in 1988 as Controls System Engineer and was assigned to several international projects, followed by general management roles, based out of The Netherlands. In 1999 he moved to Fluor's headquarters in California to run a major global change program. After the successful delivery of this program, he moved back to Europe to take the role of General Manager for Fluor in The Netherlands, and subsequently leading the Chemicals Group for Fluor Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Having grown the Global Chemicals business, Mr. Oosterveer became President of the Energy and Chemicals group for Fluor globally, and a member of the Corporate Leadership Team of Fluor. In 2014, he was appointed as Chief Operating Officer with Profit & Loss responsibility for the Commercial Operations of Fluor worldwide, responsible for approximately $20 billion of annual revenues. He currently lives in the United States with his wife and will be relocating to The Netherlands.
