• Demand for more than 100 per cent of available space

• Prominent politicians expected at Opening Ceremony

There are high expectations for InnoTrans at the start of 2016, when it will be taking place once again. ‘Now that the application deadline has passed it is apparent that the entire display area has already been oversubscribed. The encouragingly high level of demand far exceeds the capacity of our Exhibition Grounds. We are making every effort to ensure that as many exhibitors as possible can take part although, for the first time in the history of InnoTrans, it may not be possible to accept all the applications received’, according to Kerstin Schulz, exhibition director of the world’s leading trade fair for rail transport technology. InnoTrans 2016 will take place from 20 to 23 September.

Bulc, Dobrindt, Müller and surprise guest at the Opening Ceremony

There are also some very welcome names on the list of participants at the Opening Ceremony on 20 September 2016. Some nine months ahead of the event Violeta Bulc, EU Commissioner for Transport, has already announced her plans to come to Berlin. National politics in Germany will be represented by the Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Alexander Dobrindt, and the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller.

The rail vehicle manufacturers, Alstom Transport S.A., Bombardier Transportation GmbH and the Division Rail Systems of Siemens AG, will be sending their management representatives Henri Poupart-Lafarge, Laurent Troger and Dr. Jochen Eickholt. The event will also be attended by Dr. Rüdiger Grube, Chairman of the Board of Deutsche Bahn AG, and Jürgen Fenske, President of the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV), as well as the CEO of a leading international transport company as a surprise guest.
