Private Siding

A private siding is the rail track on the premises of an individual company and, by passing a gate, connects to a private-sidings line or directly to the main line. Private sidings are important to connect companies directly to the rail network and it enables the company to load its goods directly into wagons without pre- and end haulage. Some companies allow third parties to use their private siding. (Source: Rail Cargo, "Rail infrastructure glossary")
